The 1300 year old ‘Song of Death’ and its impact on Hollywood

For a fascinating account of the impact of medieval music in modern day film, I suggest this short video (6 minutes) on how the ‘Song of Death’ or ‘Dies Irae’ found its way into movies such as ‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ (1946), ‘The Lord of the Rings’ trilogy, Disney’s ‘The Lion King’ and the opening music to the infamous film ‘The Exorcist’.
